May 30, 2012

Another day, another couple, another 20 plus redfish. Today it was Leah and Johnny from California. Johnny had the numbers, but Leah had the big fish of the day , a respectable 8 pounder. All fish caught on blk/chart spinnerbaits.

May 29, 2012

Chris and Sabine from Washington state fished with me today. The redfish bite was steady all morning boating 20 plus and releasing them all to fight another day. All fish caught on blk/chart spinnerbaits.

May 28, 2012

Kyle and Nonnie from Wisconsin had a great day on the water for Memorial Day. In the heat they managed to catch their limit of redfish.

May 27, 2012

Heber Dunaway and his 9 buddies caught this nice mess of red fish and a few trout today fishing with Capt. Barry and Capt. Dave.

May 25, 2012

Another great day with the Hulse party, Deana, Debbie, Steve and Doug. Capt. Dave had the Muench part. Today it was spoons that put most of the fish in the boat. The bite was not as furious as yesterday but they still managed to put over 20 reds in the boat. A few fillets for the house and a few for lunch at Jan`s Cajun Restaurant.

May 24, 2012

What a great problem to have, too many big fish today!! The red fishing has been off the charts the past couple of days. Capt. Mike J. had the Marc Hall party, Capt. Mike D had the Lloyds for their second day, Capt. Dave had the Josh hall party, Capt. Barry and I the Hulse party for their second day. Spinnerbaits and spoons have been been on the hit list, but they will probably hit just about anything. Out again tomorrow with three boats.

May 23, 2012

What a great day to be on the water, partly cloudy and light winds.
Five boats out today, Capt. Dave had the Lawson's, Capt Austin had the Shapiro's, Capt. Mike had the Lloyd's, also fishing with him again tomorrow, Capt. Barry and I had the Hulse party from Oklahoma. Steve and Deana on his boat and Doug and Debbie on mine, back for their third time in a year. All boats put a spanking on the redfish. Spinner baits and spoons, but the spinner bait with the smoke/chart cocahoe worked the best. Thanks to all Captains and the clients that fished with them.

May 19, 2012

Girls day out with the Charlene Morris party. It was after 8am by the time we got on the water so shrimp on the bottom was the way to go. The girls caught sting rays, eels, gar fish and a mess of keeper redfish.

May 18, 2012

Friday morning redfish trip with Ron Jones and his friend John. Our
number one area did not work out due to the wind, but the back up plan turned out to be just fine. All fish caught on spinner baits smoke/chart.

Also today Capt. Barry had Robin and Jacob from Denham Springs, LA out for some speckled trout fishing. They did a great job and managed to catch 35 or so.

Today I had Jill and Chris Kauker, from Tennesee joined me for some
redfish action. The bite was slow early but as the tide started to move the action began to pick up. Once again it was ladies day as Jill boated most of the fish, but I must say Chris was coming on strong towards the end of the day. All fish caught on spoons and spinner baits.

May 14, 2012

Today I had the pleasure of fishing the Jamie Buth party. In March Jamie and Eric fished with me, today they also brought along Mary on her first red fishing trip. After a late start they still managed to catch a fine mess of reds. All fish caught on spoons, we could not buy one on a spinner bait. A beautiful day to be out on the water.

May 12, 2012

Today, Capt. Barry had Robert Sr. and Robert Jr. The father son combo had a great day on the water and they each brought their limit back to the dock to be bag and cleaned for some fine eating at a later date.

May 11, 2012

The Mark Lunsford party did not get much fishing time in today due to thunderstorms moving into the area, but they did manage to catch a nice fish fry for the time they did fish. We left the dock at 7am and had to head back in by 9:30am due to rain. The fish were biting this morning and should continue for this upcoming week. All caught on blk/chart spinner baits. Thanks again to the Lunsford party, look forward to taking everyone out again soon.

Another beautiful day on the water. My clients today Paige, Kristy,
Steve and Drew are from Oregon and Washington State, a very long way from Louisiana. It was Paige`s birthday today, so I guess it was only proper that she catch the big fish of the day, a nice 10 pounder, gracefully released to fight another day. All fish caught on spoons and spinnerbaits, black/chart and Bass Assassin Texas Roach. Have a safe trip back to the Northwest.

May 9, 2012

Jim Schill has fished with me for the last several years. He is from
Texas and lives on Lake Fork, a fine bass lake. Its usually six guys that make the trip but this time the wives came along. His wife Glenda, Jerry and his wife Alice. I have to say Glenda put it on everyone today catching all her fish on a spoon. Spinner baits, blk/chart and Texas roach also worked.

May 5-6, 2012

Weekend trip with the Scott Zumwalt party. It was redfish and more
redfish but today Buddy and Ronnie had to work for the fish we caught. Spinnerbaits and shrimp on the bottom was the ticket on both days.

May 4, 2012

Today Capt. Barry had Martin and his 2 sons Aaron and Scott. Nice day of fishing for the group. They managed to boat a few trout and a nice mess of redfish. The big redfish was released.

I left my camera on the boat for the other party we had today, will update that trip tomorrow but we managed to boat about 40-50 redfish. The good fishing should continue tomorrow.

May 1, 2012

Mike Sheldon and his wife Toni joined me today and it was just as hot as yesterday. The first hour of the morning was beautiful. After that the wind really picked up making fishing difficult. However, late this evening the weather conditions are expected to change with a chance a rain and additional cloud cover. That usually mean better fishing if we can find clean water. We will be back at it with Mike and Toni tomorrow.
