Day Off

October 21, 2013

Today we had the pleasure of taking a group of fishing buddies from Illinois out. They are staying at our lodge for a few days and I think we spoiled them hard on their first day. 250 trout (500 filets) caught today and several redfish to cap off their day.

October 20, 2013

Today, the Tom Harris party fished with Capt. Dave. The guys had a great day on the water and finished up with a good mess of fish and a big Flounder for the kicker.

October 12, 2013

Today I had the pleasure of fishing the annual LSU/Florida rivalry trip with Dr. Carl, Dr. Tom, Dale and Gregg. The past 2 years has been mostly redfish but this year it was more trout.

Also,

Today Capt. Randy had a couple from visting from Colorado. Colorado is one beautiful place and we loved your camo sleeve tattoo!

October 10, 2013

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Dave Eichler and Owen Hale, drummer of the famous Lynyrd Skynyrd rock band. This is the 2nd year that they have fished with me and these guys are a blast. The morning started off slow, but by 8 am the bite picked up and the guys put a nice mess in the box. All fish caught on gulps under a cork.

October 9, 2013

Today I had the pleasure of fishing with Harley and John. These guys were really good fisherman and the weather was AWESOME! We boated 20+ Redfish and 30+ Speckled Trout.

October 8, 2013

Today was Day 2 from the group I enjoyed time with on the water yesterday. After a relaxing night in our waterfront lodge the gorgeous and cooler weather made for a great day on the water. Kay with (1 of the 6)  9 lb-12 lb red fish she caught on day 2. She really put it on the boys today. It was a much better catching day. Reds on spinner baits and trout on gulps.

October 7, 2013

Today was Day 1 for Jim and Kay Crow who brought along their daughter Molly and her husband Tom. Tough fishing conditions still produced a nice mess of fish.

October 5, 2013

Today I had the pleasure of fishing Mike Mattingly and his cousin Lee. The group stayed at the lodge and while at the lodge Mike left a pole in the water overnight. He used cleaned Speckled Trout Belly Guts for the bait and when he awoke for the charter he had a 40+ lb Catfish on the line. Its the biggest catfish any client to ever fish with Jean Lafitte Fishing Charters has ever caught and it wasn't even from the boat but from the porch of our waterfront lodge. They also caught some nice fish on the boat as well ;o)

Also, Capt Barry had Steve, Zack, Kyle and Kevin

They also caught a Bass in the Saltwater. Not completely rare, but not often for the area we were in. We usually catch Bass more north. The Bass Was Lost!

October 4, 2013

Captain Mike had the pleasure of fishing the Steve Rowe Party today.
