Fishing Reports

Fishing forecast for June - With Summer in full swing the action will continue to improve almost on a daily basis. Speckled trout will be thick this month, with the increase in all the shrimp and bait inshore. Usually a 40 minute run can put you i the thick of things. Redfish are still plentiful, and they are a very short distance away, in all the duck ponds, and on the edge of bays that has some grass. Call now to get it on some of this great summer time action.

June 30, 2004 -A day without rain, I cannot believe it. Two boats out today, Capt Joe and myself each had three people who were staying at the Victoria Inn here in Lafitte. We ended up with 25 redfish and 4 beautiful flounder. All fish were caught on H&H cocahoe minnows. Capt E.J.

June 29, 2004 - Rain, rain please go away. With 4 boats out today we did as much running from thunder storms as fishing. Capt Mike traveled down south towards Barataria Bay in search of trout and managed to catch 16 nice keepers with a bunch of throwbacks. Capt. Joe caught 9 nice reds, with his two guys fishing spinner baits and spoons along the shorelines of several bays. Capt Bobby caught only 3 reds but ended up with the money fish for the day. I had my same couple from yesterday, and we worked hard to catch our limit of reds. Mike, Joe and I will be out again tomorrow. Hopefully the rain will give us a break. If you are looking for a great fishing package at a great price give me a call 1-877-689-4120 toll free .Thanks Capt E.J.

June 28, 2004 -Terry Hall and his wife Barbara from California joined me today. They will be fishing with me for two days on one of our fishing packages we offer. Two days fishing, two nights lodging, four star accommodations, including meals. They have fished all over the US but this was there first trip to Louisiana fishing for redfish. Had a couple fish over 9lbs. Barbara took big fish, but Terry managed to catch the most. I have 4 boats out tomorrow, will post the happenings in Lafitte tomorrow. Till then see you on the water.

June 27, 2004 - Blain Boudreaux and his son from Napoleonville joined me today. .( Finally a trip without rain). We worked hard to catch the 9 reds and 1 flounder we caught. We should have had a limit but a few managed to get away. That’s fishing.

June 26, 2004 - Had the pleasure of fishing with Mr. Daniel Mott and his family. They are from Oklahoma and have never fished for redfish. The kids had a ball reeling those spot tails in which pulls a little harder than those bass they are use to catching. I think they are hooked on redfish.

June 24, 2004 - Had a group of guys for a bachelor party today. Fishing was tough but we did manage to catch 15 reds with a few going over 7 pounds. Once again we were run in by a large thunderstorm. Looks like some wet fishing for the next few days. Capt. E.J.

June 22, 2004 - Another bass fishing trip on Wednesday pretty much washed out by rain. Landed a dozen or so with none of them going over a pound and a half. All fish were caught on 6” curly tail worms.

June 20, 2004 -  Saturday Mr. Daniel Davillier and family fished with me on Saturday. We managed a nice mess of redfish, then we were washed out by a vicious thunderstorm which lasted for several hours. Several groups including ourselves managed to reach a camp on Three Bayou Bay until the weather subsided

June 19, 2004 - Sunday I had Wayne Dufrene and his family fishing with me. Usually when I have young kids on the boat, I like to bring live bait, and a good thing I did. Live cocohoes under a cork produce a nice mess of redfish, with several going over 7 pounds. The fishing still remains hot

June 18, 2004 - Bill and Sylvia Furlong with a couple of reds from their limit. All fish were caught on spinner baits

June 16, 2004 - Another day on the grass beds fishing for bass. Did not do as well as Sunday but worked hard for the 7 we caught. Bass fishing can be tough but I believe it will make you a better fisherman if you give it a try.

June 14, 2004 - Connie Smith and her husband with two of the many redfish they caught on spinner baits, on their 2nd day fishing with us.  They fish Caney Lake for bass and she has never caught a red fish. I believe she is hooked. This gal can is great with a bait caster. I guess its her bass fishing experience.

June 13, 2004 - Connie Smith and Her Husband on flounder day yesterday. Both these guys were caught on spinner baits with another limit of reds also

June 12, 2004 - Did a bass fishing trip today. Managed to catch 15 or so with the largest going about 2 pounds.  Most fish were caught on a 6” curly tail grape worm working it over grass beds. If anyone out there would like to try there luck at bass fishing please give me a call.  1-877-689-4120

June 07, 2004 - Fished today with my good friends Bill and Sylvia Furlong. We decided to try some trout fishing even though the wind was blowing by the time we left the dock  . Plenty of birds diving on shrimp and plenty of small trout. We were catching them three at a time but managed to boat only only 6 keepers. Nothing but 11 inch fish so we decided to go after reds and managed to boat 7 nice keepers in the last hour. Capt. E.J.
