September 28 -30, 2007 - Weekend trips with the Allen party, Lacabe party and Poche party. Capt. Kevin and I were out on this windy weekend, we both ended up with mixed bags of fish, mostly trout, catching three or four, for every one keeper you put in the box. The keepers are just around the corner. Things should start picking up and continue through the first of the year. Glow beetle's under a cork for the trout and shrimp under a cork, and spinner baits for the reds.

September 26, 2007 - The bass fishing the past few days has been awesome. Dave Bourgeois and I had 35 to 40 fish before 8am. The fish yesterday overall ran larger than today but the action didn't slow down. Its 9:15am, boat is on the trailer and I am writing this report. How much better can it get. Plastic worms in any color, anything dark that is, have been the hot bait. If you like top water, try it early, spinner baits down as the sun gets up. If you would like to get it on this wonderful largemouth bite, give us a call. Nothing like a nice early morning trip fishing those giant grass beds. All fish were released to fight another day!

September 24, 2007 - The bass bite on Thursday was very slow. Friday was a little better , the weekend too much pressure, (from fisherman), but today was on fire. Today was one of those days you look for. Just before the full moon, a cloudy dark night and the fish haven't eaten much in the past few days, overcast day with light rain. The bite didn't shut down until 11am. Between both boats we had over 100 bass, with a 1/2 dozen going over 3lbs. All our fish were caught on worms along grass beds in 5 or 6 ft of water. All fish released to fight another day, my kind of trip.

September 17 -21, 2007 - Dale Thomas came all the way from Hawaii to fish a couple of days in Louisiana. Redfish and bass was what he wanted to catch. Thursday we did a combo trip, bass early and redfish later in the morning. We kept a few reds to be grilled for lunch at Jan's. Friday was all bass fishing, which was fine with me. We didn't catch anything big 25 or more on a blue bird day. Everything on worms working grass lines in 5 feet of water. We kept 5 small ones to fry up at Jan's for lunch. Good company, a great fisherman and two good days of fishing. Can't get any better
than that
.

September 14 - 16, 2007 - I know we all enjoyed this wonderful weather change over the weekend, but with the nice change in weather, it made for some tough conditions with a stiff northerly breeze, and dirty water. The  tide dropped over a foot, and  we still managed to have some fair catches, mostly redfish, but overall it was slow. Spoons and spinners still have been catching most of the fish. The more area you can cover the better your chances of finding fish.

September 13, 2007 - The weather gave us a break this morning and we managed to get these trips in. The Holt party, Trepagnier party and the Semler party. Redfish have been the target fish the past couple of weeks and with severe weather close by, short runs in the ponds was the ticket for today. Spoons and spinner baits fished on points and cuts in the marsh produced all of our fish. Will try to get out tomorrow, weather permitting. Capt. E.J.

September 4 - 9, 2007 - Fished the Gray party from Jackson Mississippi Friday morning. The fishing was slow, but we did manage a few nice reds for the BBQ pit. Spoons and tight lining cocahoes put most of the fish in the boat. Friday Evening, I took a Virginia Tech fan who wanted to go bass fishing. So we pointed the boat north around 415 and made our way towards the bass fishing grounds. There were numerous thunderstorms in the area, and with a 10-13 knot wind, the purple, curly tail worm fished with a 3/8 ounce bullet weight, on the edge of the grass bed put about 25 bass in the boat in less than an hour. We kept 6 for dinner and released the rest to fight another day.

The girls from Acme Lock Co. fished with us Saturday. Capt. Mike, Tommy and myself had our hands full today, (not really). The group turned out to be some very good fisher women. Spoons and spinner baits were the baits of the day. A nice mess of reds were caught, some which were cooked up at Jan's for lunch and also each a bag to take to the house. I want to thank Nina from Acme Lock for setting everything up. The girls can't wait to do it again.

Victoria and Duncan fished with me Sunday. The bite the past few days has been early, and by 10am they have completely shut down. Cuts and points with moving water flowing out of the marshes has been the most productive areas. Gold spoons have been the hot bait the past couple of days. The pattern has been go early, catch a few and head for the house.

August 30 - September 3, 2007 - Seven boats out this weekend. The trout fishing has been on and off the past week. Some clients still want to chase after them but with so many little fish out there, keepers have been hard to come by. The redfish have been our money fish the last couple of weeks. Spoons, spinner baits, and tight lining cocahoes on the bottom have produced all our fish. My pattern for the last several trips have been move, move, move. The more water you can cover with the trolling motor, the better your chances of putting fish in the boat. Here are a few pictures of this past weekend's clients. The Sullivan party, Baird party, Knowles party, Sils party, Simonson party, Senior party, Hensley party, ( Dana with her huge redfish), and thanks to the guides, Capt. Mike, Barry, Kevin and Mike.

Labor day bass. The bass have been on fire the past few days, so I
decided to give them a try this afternoon. Left the dock around 3:30. The first couple of hours was slow, but it sure picked up in a hurry. I boated 38 bass with a couple in the 3lb class, not a bad afternoon, almost seemed like the old days!
